Paul Kahn, the former boss of Airbus’s UK operations?, is to resurface in a senior role at Cobham, the embattled defence and aerospace group.

Sky News has learnt that Mr Kahn is being lined up to take on a top divisional post at the FTSE-250 company, with an announcement likely in the coming days.

His appointment at Cobham would come little more than two months after he left Airbus, with reports suggesting he had been pushed out of the Franco-German industrial giant.
Mr Kahn has been a vocal critic of Britain’s decision to leave the European Union, arguing during his time at Airbus that the company would have no choice but to relocate some of its 15,000 UK-based jobs.
His re-emergence at Cobham is likely to be viewed favourably by investors in the British company, which has endured a turbulent period punctuated by a string of brutal profit warnings.

Cobham was forced to turn to investors to raise £500m in a rights issue in May, and is now looking to offload a number of divisions to raise further capital.
The company specialises in activities such as aircraft refuelling and military radar equipment, and sources said that Mr Kahn’s role would be a key one in its defence operations.
Cobham declined to comment on Thursday.
